The 2016 Bloomsdale Run is a good opportunity to put your body to the test. Not only is running beneficial to your health but it also allows you to participate in community events. Though the event will be fun and thrilling, you shouldn’t take your health for granted. Runs like these require preparation weeks before the event. Otherwise, you may strain and exhaust your body, forcing you to seek urgent care in Spokane Valley instead of simply enjoying the run. Here’s a guide on how to ready yourself for the run: Make a Schedule To train for the run, you need to plot the days when you will be running, walking, or resting. Three Reasons Why Walking at the Custer Arts & Crafts Show Is Healthy

To keep your heart and the rest of your body healthy, medical researchers recommend that adults walk at least 10,000 steps per day. You do not have to walk quickly or run in order to achieve an ideal level of physical fitness; even just walking while browsing at the Custer Arts & Crafts festival this spring is a great way to get in some of those steps. With these tips from providers at a Spokane Valley urgent care center, you can help to keep your heart and your spirit healthy. Weight Maintenance Slow to moderate paced walking helps to maintain your weight. Walking is a weight-bearing exercise, which forces your muscles and bones to be strong. Exercising your muscles helps to burn more calories. Walking at a pace of about 3 miles per hour, such as if you would walk through the grocery store, burns around 200 calories per hour for a 180-pound adult.

Urgent Care Providers Share Prevention Tips for These Winter Illnesses

Your health is your wealth. While it’s important to keep your body in check throughout the entire year, the colder winter months of October through February are common seasonal illness culprits. Nothing hurts the wallet and life’s comforts like spending a few weeks sick on the couch, so it’s absolutely crucial to prevent as many winter illnesses as possible with help from urgent care providers. Fighting the Flu Workplaces and college campuses are notorious for spreading illness such as the flu, reason being that diseases spread quickest in areas where people are highest in concentration. Classrooms, cubicles, and bathrooms are the common hotbeds for influenza due to common face-to-face communication. Flu outbreaks usually occur when droplets of saliva are emitted and then transferred from coughing, sneezing, or even simply talking from person to person. Symptoms include joint pain, dry cough, congestion, and body chills.

If you are a biker, however, it is important to know how to safely use these trails. The Importance of Helmets Many people choose not to wear helmets when cycling, but there are a number of reasons why this can be the wrong decision. Most statistics point out that the most common injuries when it comes to using a bike are head injuries.
